Dear Neighbor,
Please join me as I announce my intention to seek another term as Alderman of the 49th Ward. The announcement will take place Monday, November 15th, 6:30 p.m. (food and refreshments), 7:15 p.m. (announcement) at the Heartland Cafe, 7001 N. Glenwood (at Lunt).
I will use this occasion to review my record over the last four years and share with you my vision for the future of our ward and city.
I am sending this message to everyone who lives in the 49th Ward and beyond–those who have supported me from the very beginning, those who have opposed me in the past and those who are still undecided about me or are new to the neighborhood. All are invited.
I’ve worked hard to heal the divisions of four years ago and demonstrate that we are a stronger community when we work together. The revitalization of Morse Avenue, the stunning success of the Glenwood Sunday Farmers’ Market, the historic participatory budgeting process and the opening of the Willye White Community Center are just a few of the many examples of what we can accomplish when we set aside past differences and unite as a community.
I listened to your concerns about service and communication and have totally revamped my Ward Service Office to provide you with better and more efficient service. And I keep you up to date on community and City Council news with frequent e-mails, all of which I write myself.
I’m at the top of my game and more energized and focused than ever before. I hope you will join me as we celebrate our successes of the last four years, and recommit ourselves to building an even better future.
I look forward to seeing you at the Heartland Cafe Monday night.
